1. I found this guys blog who did a year long study abroad in what sounds like art history. His trip seems really well documented and even has a post about what sorts of things he took with him and which churches he visited in which cities. A potentially good logistical source for me, which gave me the idea of looking at the blogs of other art history students study abroad experiences. http://michaelthurin.wordpress.com
2. "Hebrew versus Greek Thinking" by Faulconer. I read this article in an LDS perspective and psychology class by Ed Gantt and this was one of the readings. I have never forgotten this article. I am not sure what to do with it, but it is interesting how the Bible was written in Greek and Christianity has flourished through the West, a society that is especially different even in thought.
3. "Hebrew Thought Compared with Greek (Western) Thought" by N'tan Lawrance. I recently found this article while looking for supplimental material of the same topic.
4. "Byzantium 330-1453" Edited by Robin Cormack and Maria Vassilaki. This is a huge, beautifully printed book, printed on the occasion of the exhibition by the same name at the Royal Academy of Arts, London from Oct 2008 to March 2009. It gives a nice general history, with great pictures of the exhibition and where the pieces were borrowed from. Although I am more interested in the art that are in churches, I will still visit museums.
